Inescapable Truths
In my time at work I have discovered two irrefutable, indisputable truths.
We have a cafeteria. It’s not that bad, but we constantly whine about it. No matter what they do or try to come up with, it’s never good enough. I generally go across the street to the [tag]Wegmans[/tag] and eat, or bring my lunch. Today, though, I ended up eating at our cafeteria. And it’s pretty good, actually.
But I realized something.
First - and this isn’t news to anyone - familiarity breeds contempt.
Second - Anything, no matter how fancy or well prepared, seems cheap and unappetizing when served on a Styrofoam plate with utensils that break under minimal pressure.
